JOIN THE TEAM

Tarporley is steered and maintained by volunteers.
So if you ever wanted to control a giant iron tub along water, enjoy working with children (of all ages), want to try your hand at canal art or just love grease up to the armpits and the good beat of a vintage engine come and join us.

We organise regular training sessions for
boat handling. To take a party out the steerer must have been awarded the Community Boat Association certificate of canal boat management.

Something new in the engine room

The ‘Chiswick’ as she is at the moment moored at Langley Mill on the Erewash Canal in Nottingham.
The plan is to bring her back to showroom condition and perhaps make her a bit more user friendly.
